Jeffrey Kauffman, MD, completed his undergraduate education at Dartmouth College. After attending medical school Cornell University Medical College Dr Kauffman completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York, during which time he spent an additional year performing research at the Musculoskeletal Research Institute. He then sought fellowship training in Sports Medicine at the celebrated Kerlan Jobe Clinic In Los Angeles Ca. Dr. Kauffman is a board-certified Orthopaedic surgeon, a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a member of the American Arthroscopy Association.
In addition to numerous peer-reviewed articles in medical journals, Dr. Kauffman has presented research at international, national, and regional forums, and has served as course faculty at multiple medical conferences. He has contributed to multiple textbooks for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has been featured in radio and television interviews both regionally and nationwide, including CBS in Sacramento, and the weather channel nationally.
Past and Present Team Affiliations: Dr. Kauffman served as team physician for the Oakland A’s triple A affiliate in Sacramento for 7 years. During that time he also was team physician for The Sacramento Capitals of the world team tennis pro league and Sacramento City College. He has previously been involved with the medical care of the Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Galaxy and the Alvin Ailey Dance Company in New York. He also has served as a consultant for the PGA seniors Tour.
When not treating Athletes, Dr Kauffman is an avid endurance athlete himself. He participates regularly in events that range from 5k’s to ultra marathons, Duathlons, Triathlons, snow shoe and cross country ski races.
